Day 5by kellyrc01Comment by Charlene: I've never had these, but after seeing [thumb]rachelellen[/thumb]'s thermometer, maybe I should consider hydrating myself? And I have to agree with you, I rather enjoy the side challenges, and am having lots of fun with this one too! |

Day 5by kellyrc01Comment by colorcarnival: Hmmm that sounds like an interesting combo of flavors. I may have to look for it just to see what it tastes like. The red came thru very well in the photo. |

Day 4by kellyrc01Comment by colorcarnival: That's interesting about the rain. We have not had any good soakings for so long. The grass is brown and dry and the creek is empty. I feel bad for the animals running around here. Hope you get some sunshine soon! |

Day 5by kellyrc01Comment by Pug-H: Acai? I wonder if that's acerola, which is a popular one here in Japan. (I'll have to check the spelling later.) From memory, it's a berry that originates from Turkey.
edit: well, I got the spelling right, but it originates from the West Indies, and is not an acai (or assai palm). Message edited by author 2007-07-06 07:29:10. |

Day 4by kellyrc01Comment by jonfrommk: Oh nooooo. The only time I get to see sunshine at the moment is in the photos posed from the non UK memebrs at DPC. This shot just sums up what the last five weeks have been like in Milton Keynes |

Day 4by kellyrc01Comment by Charlene: I'm sorry, but I had to laugh a bit when I saw this. I know the feeling. We haven't had that much rain, but enough to be ready for it to come again Some Other Day!! |

Day 4by kellyrc01Comment by rachelellen: Wish you could blow some over this way. You all have flooding and we've got fuel temps of 115 degrees with 10 percent humidity to make for a scary wildfire season.
This is a nice atmospheric shot. I like how it makes me feel the bluesy kind of rainy-holiday feeling. |

Day 4by kellyrc01Comment by TCGuru: Kelly!!! So good to see you! I know we will both learn much in the next 45 days :) These side challenges are usually pretty good for that. I am sorry it was raining on your 4th :(
Okay, down to the technicals. The main thing I see here is that you didn't do a last sharpen in post and the image is small. Try 650x650. Your composition is good in that the tree there on the right grabs your eye and pulls it right down to the wet sidewalk. Saturation is good. Overall, a nice photo that conveys exactly what you wanted it to. Rain on the 4th of July :) |
