macro flowerby MacDonaldComment by GregoryB: Pretty good effort, considering the lack of light and the forced shutter speed. Colour is great and I'm surprised with the lack of noise. |

macro flowerby MacDonaldComment by MattO: I really like the combination of colors for this shot, and how the lines of the petals all bring you in to the center of the image. Good eye to get this image. |

macro flowerby MacDonaldComment by MelonMusketeer: The strong yellow and brown combination and all lines to the center in the flower make for a very striking image. I am curious about the shooting data on this one. The overall sharpness makes me think that it was shot at f11 or 16. |

snail 1 rsby MacDonaldComment by MacDonald: Didn't use the flash (I know it looks like I did) as it was noon. I also noticed a bit of purple fringing on it. I had the f-stop at 11 - the ISO at 200 and the shutter speed at 1/400.
Maybe the ISO should have been at 100 - I also didn't open it in light room .. might have been able to get rid of that hot spot?
I need to practice more for sure and appreciate the comment as I would like to get better at macro. |

snail 1 rsby MacDonaldComment by MattO: I really like the colors and smoothness of the background and think that the focus and depth of field is pretty good on this shot. I might have turned the flash down just a touch. How do you have your flash set up on this one? On board flash? Hotshoe? Any modifiers?

Painter's lightby MacDonaldComment by zxaar: As a painter, i think of many issues with it.
1. That is too detailed sketch.
Usually sketch for painting is not done with this much of detail. Specially when it is about to be used with oil paints.
You would say - i do it.
May be yes, but you see doing that much detailed sketch on canvas is challenge in itself. I know because i have tried it.Canvas is not smooth enough to make sketch on it.
2. If the sketch is that detailed, there is lot on graphite on canvas. This makes painting dirty.
3. If it were just a sketch, what it is doing on aisle???
Domp worry not punishing score for this. That was just ramblings from painter in me. |
