Even if it passes, though, it feels very "photoshoppy"; the burn marks on the hand, the water, all look like they were added later, which I find distracting from the concept. I do like the concept...

You have a great eye for composing portraits. The angle of the guitar works well here. A bit "blown" (as they say) on the shirt above the guitar, and I'd like to see a bit more definition in the dark eye.

Excellent work on the desat! That must have taken a bit of time, and the end result is worth it - this is one of those shots where I do believe the desat actually benefits the picture nicely. Score should have been higher in my estimation (and you're commenters thought so, too.) Congrats on a great picture!
