I like the emphasis on the mudpath. The textures are actually very nice, and it reminds us that beauty has more to do with form and structure than with quality and culture.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Although I'm also a fan of the alternate sayings, "What doesn't kill you makes you violently ill" and "What doesn't kill you makes you wish it did" :)

Good dramatic photo including an interesting message. The slightly overexposed high contract works extremely well in this case, as does the pensive pose.

Nice conversion to B&W. To my eye, the main subject and most inteesting content lives within the wet winding pathway. I tried doing a pseudo-crop by resizing the window and scrolling to remove the buildings and low fence, remove the bricks at the bottom, and put the end of the left hand water edge right into the lower left cornor of the picture. I think it strengthens the image, although admittedly changing it a lot from what you composed.
