great max ..
i love her happy smiling face .. wot a natural she is ..
its a wonderful photograph .. you've really captured her joy .. obviously she's very happy that her daughter is getting married .. the groom looks to be lovely man .. that fantastic smile you caught on 'film' with the two little girls .. well, altho they say you cant read a book by its cover, i think often you can tell a lot when you see a person .. he looks just lovely .. open and honest ..
this is an excellent portrait ..
i'm not sure about the woman in the back .. either cropping her out entirely or doing something so that she becomes unidentifiable .. like either with gaussian blur selectively applied or something else .. well that would improve this heaps .. the woman in the back detracts from mum's wonderful joyful face ... :)

i'm sorry max .. you'll no longer speak to me .. but i cant say i love this when i have reservations .. i'm just not taken with the bride's expression .. the other girl, well her expression's not very inviting .. she looks like she's just about to make a sarcastic comment .. and i dont like the intense light between them ..
when you take a photograph and you're happy with it and someone comes along and says negative things .. well you can react in various ways ..
you can think they have no idea wot they're talking about .. and you could be right .. !! you could even feel angry towards them ..
wotever ..
remember that this is only my humble opinion, and very humble it is too ..
but like i say .. i cant go on about something in glowing terms if i dont feel it .. for a start i would be being dishonest .. sometimes its better to say nothing if you have nothing 'nice' to say but you asked for my opinion .. otherwise i'd just not comment at all .. and everyone would be happy ..
but a large part of being in dpc is that we all want to learn .. we learn by seeing other ppl's work and sometimes learn when someone give a critical comment .. i dont see many critical comments .. possibly because no-one wants to be seen as being unkind .. we all thrive on the positive comments and i feel they really help motivate and inspire us to do well .. but the occasional critical comment doesnt go astray either .. i hope .. !!
i hope that someone else comes along and makes suitable glowing comments and says how much they like this because i dont want mine the only one anyone sees ..
& it can be just a personal taste sort'v thing anyway .... :)

hey max .. i nearly picked this as a fav pic earlier before i went out, but decided not to because i wasnt happy that his hand had been chopped off .. arent i a bitch .. !!! .. lol .. another lame joke ..
its often very difficult to take photographs of people and get everything just right .. if there's more than one person then there's a very big chance that one person has an excellent expression and the other has a contortion going on ..!!
so in that respect you've got a winner .. the little girl eating the pearls .. lol .. and the other child looking at you so cute and adorable .. excellent ..
the man, who i'm thinking is the groom, well, his expression is perfect .. to me his expression makes this shot .. he has a wonderful face and a brilliant smile .. you've photographed him so well ..
considering the fact that i can see that the sun is shining you've managed to get them with very little harsh light on their faces .. so obviously they were facing the 'right' way .. !!
i think it would'v been an improvement if you'd been just a bit further away, or zoomed out just a tad & got his entire hand in the image .. but its just my opinion max ..
once again you've got the exposure just right .. i like that i can see the details in the little girl's white dress so well ..
its a lovely portrait .. :)

BRILLIANT ... !!
a fantastic photograph to open .. it just felt so right ..
i love it .. the old and the young .. the younger woman with her arm encircling the older woman's shoulder .. the way her head is leaning & touching .. the togetherness .. i'm wondering if its the grandmother of the bride .. ??
everything is so perfect .. the excellent exposure .. nothing too dark and nothing too light . i really like the silhouette in the background .. they are not alone .. !!
its a celebration after all .. !!
the colours are great ..
their expressions .. well, they just make this excellent portrait .. i feel they are smiling right at me ...
way to go max .. !!

a brilliant awwwwwwwww moment max ..
BUT .. i'm not a big fan of his face being squashed and i'm not sure about her expression .. (if i saw her expression without the supporting knowledge that she's just got married and is very happy, well, i'd wonder if she was in pain .. ).. just remember that this is just my opinion and some ppl would like the very natural and real look .. which is wot i particularly like about this too ..
you asked for my opinion so i'm afraid that's wot you'll get ..
i actually like the portrait, but i'm thinking it may not appeal for the reasons i mentioned .. i love that awwwwwww moment .. and the fact that they seem unaware of you taking their photograph .. no self-consciousness at all .. and the more i look at it the better i like it ..
i really like the way their hands are together like that .. like their faces and the hands are the focal point of the whole image .. as they should be ..
on a less physical level the hands grasped together that way seem to represent a merging of the two ppl .. two ppl becoming one entity in their marriage ..
i wonder if i should now delete the more negative things i've said .. ??
no .. i'll leave it because it was my first reaction .. and my reaction may be similar to a lot of other ppl's ..
i particularly like that its very balanced and i love the bright colours .. exposure just right .. altho different monitors will show differently ..
their faces are a bit dark on my monitor, but you might know i like things a bit darker than most .. !!:)

hey max .. its an excellent photograph ..
i'm not a wedding photographer, so asking my opinion is probably not such a good idea .. !!
coz i actually like the relatively harsh contrasts because of the light especially in this shot .. their pose, and those bright colours .. the lovely way they're looking at each other and their arms interlinked .. cant get much better than this .. !!
& there's probably not a lot you can do about the sunlight out'v doors unless you got them to 'pose' in a shady area i guess .. and i'm not that into posed shots either .. just following ppl around and catching them at their most natural is how i like to take portraits ..
when someone's getting married i think mostly they want a sunny day .. if they were a photographer i'm sure they'd think again .. they'd probably put in for a light cloud cover to break occasionally to keep the overall temp warm .. for the sun to go behind the clouds everytime you wanted to have your pic taken .. unless you wanted some with a high contrast look for variation .. lol ..
anyway .. i'll have a look at the others now too ..
altho i think i hear ppl coming home and i'll be interrupted .. !!:)

This should have finished higher than it did. I thought it was funny. Got the whole cartoonish vibe going for it. Thanks for the laugh!

I think this composition is a little too centered, or maybe not centered enough . . .
