The Watcherby ManicComment by HBunch: The colors looks a bit muddied here. I wonder if the water always looks like that, and if a level adjustment could have made it look less muddy. To show you what I'm talking about, I wanted to send you these links to a couple photos I've critiqued in the past. I will say the same thing about your shot that I did the other, I think it would look better in black and white. Here is a link to a color version of this shot... //www1.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=364242 and here is a link to a black and white... //www1.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=428152.
Just wanted to share those with you.
Also, I think your shot could use a slight rotation to the right. Otherwise, very nice. Good luck in the challenge. |

The Watcherby ManicComment by magnetic9999: excellent sharp foreground, still retains good DOF, and the eiffel in the bg is the capper that adds the exotic context that nails the shot : ) |

The Dark Dark Woodsby ManicComment by lisae: Kind of an atmospheric photo, but the composition is flat. The two trees together compete for attention. I love the effect of the branches against the sky, but the grass in the foreground is dull and doesn't add anything. |

The Dark Dark Woodsby ManicComment by GeneralE: To make it even more spooky I'd have tried to darken the sky (and maybe lighted the nearest foreground) while keeping the woods about as they are. Think I'll take a flashlight... |

The Dark Dark Woodsby ManicComment by inspzil: Everything looks real good here except the sky. I think a polarizing filter would've helped a lot. - Inspzil |

Tripod Junkieby ManicComment by Konador: Nice that there is no sky, it seems like you are higher up and it puts more emphasis on the shadow. Nice idea and done well :) |

The Dark Dark Woodsby ManicComment by Konador: I liek this. I think it could do with being a bit darker, and maybe have a bit more contrast, but the it looks good anyway. I can't help thinking it looks wonkey tho, leaning down on the left. Prolly just the uneven trees |
