Mercuryby libertyComment by Moose408: Technically this is not a Mercury based thermometer. I'm not going to mark down for that though. I like the processing on this and I'm not usually a fan of vignetting but it really works well here. |

Mercuryby libertyComment by pffree: Nice picture, great detail, but the thermometer is full of alcohol and not mercury... but, yes I'll say that thermometers do normally make me think of mercury. Actually choosing an alcohol thermometer makes the picture a lot more interesting with the striking colour, so I like it, well done. |

Mercuryby libertyComment by TrollMan: It is mercury indeed and it is sharp. But to me this looks more like a stock photo. It does help it a little though that it is an older thermometer and that it is not completely straight. |

Mercuryby libertyComment by bjoern: Nice macro, but if it's red it's not mercury (sorry for splitting hairs). |

Mercuryby libertyComment by leugim_seven: Great capture, however you did not photograph a mercury thermometer but rather an alcohol thermometer. When the liquid is red the thermometer is an alcohol thermometer and has a lower temperature range than a mercury thermometer which the liquid inside would then be metallic.
But like I said before, otherwise great capture |

Mercuryby libertyComment by TonyT: Mecurcy is silver. The red thermometers are usually alcohol. I like the pic though! |
