Sky tones, the steam (?), the disorganisation of the wind turbines - it's like a landscape out of Terminator, only they never had this sophisticated an imagination. All that stops you getting a ten from me (a rare thing indeed) is the feeling that it's all a little too distant - I'd have tried less sky, perhaps losing the turbines to the left, and cropping closer to the 'islands', just to see how that felt (of course you may have, and may have rejected it). Still the most desolate shot this week :-)

The neg. space here makes this factory (?) look very small indeed, and hints at pollution with your title (?), so good meeting of the challenge. The factory lights seem just a bit out of focus, where I would think you'd want that clarity here to contrast wtih the fuzzy sky.

It's kind of an unusual photo, so I'm both surprised and glad it placed this good.
Personally I'm bothered by some dark shades in the background that become more noticable when you look at the photo from a distance.
I'm also not to happy about the single hair above the right eye, but that's mostly because it is grey :)

I like it. At first I was wishing for more contrast but then it wouldn't look like a dust storm. The ground colors are very unique. I will be interested to find out where this was shot. Nice job.
