Spring, where are you?!by SonifoComment by dan_d: very pleasing picture, i like the composition of the subject and the contrasting background...
IMO, it wasnt really necessary to get motion blurr on the girl's hand and the flowers. The sense of motion is already conveyed by the foot and body position. I would have rather seen the detail on the flowers.
also, i think a little more saturation in the orange channel would enhance the contrast and might bring out the little girl a bit more |

Weee...the joys of Spring!by SonifoComment by Tallbloke: Interesting / strange shot. Normally the blur would suggest movement in a photo but your blur seems to be on the static chute and your subjects legs leaving the face crisp. This just sits uneasy for me as a viewer, I cant figure out easily whats going on. Sorry |

Spring, where are you?!by SonifoComment by cpanaioti: The desaturated colours and the slight motion blur of the child's arm make this image. Including the entire curve of the pathway may even add to the impact it has. |

Spring, where are you?!by SonifoComment by Neil: This is a wonderful composition and a good take on the challenge. The motion of the girl is put to good use here. One area I think this can be improved is in the background--the slightly saturated, pale grass and background for some reason calls attention to itself to me, perhaps simply because it doesn't provide enough contrast with the orange dress and the girls stockings and hat. It may not have been possible during the challenge, but I think this is just the perfect shot to selectively desaturate the background to grayscale. I bet you wanted to do this for the challenge, but were stopped by the similarity in color between the girl and the background. Overall, this is a very nice photo--and I bet it will sell well if you can enhance the contrast of the elements later. |
