The amazing Skywheel of Dr Parnassusby MilesWComment by Nadine_Vb: I really want to try this out myself - just for fun, simply for the experience.
This is the most creative way of taking pictures I've ever seen and on top of that without a mass of post-processing. |

The amazing Skywheel of Dr Parnassusby MilesWComment by MilesW: PostChallenge:
Wow - strong finish given that this was sub-6 a couple of days into voting and 6.1 most of the week. Many thanks for all the kind comments, votes and faves.
As Posthumous correctly spotted, this shot was taken by hand-holding a small mirror (or in this case a 10x10cm mirror tile) in front of the lens and angling it so that the top third of the wheel is reflected into the bottom third of the shot. There is very little post-processing other than to balance some brightness and tweak some colours.
Taking this shot did generate quite a bit of interest from other photographers present who wanted to know why I was waving a mirror in front of my lens! |

The amazing Skywheel of Dr Parnassusby MilesWComment by briantammy: nice shot. my son's point and shoot canon, not sure which, can take two shots and the camera's software can stitch them together and produce a single frame/single-file shot. is that what this is? |

The amazing Skywheel of Dr Parnassusby MilesWComment by posthumous: ok, I see a slight tear in the matrix on the lower left side. This is a mirror held up to reflect the sky and the top part of the wheel, lined up to complete the bottom part of the wheel, simultaneously blocking out the horizon. Very well donw. |
