creative idea taht had worked even better with a different positioning of the light source (more from the back to empahsize the edges and lose the texture)

OMG, I just laughed out loud.

I have a crazy hot sauce collection including some really foul 16,000,000 Scoville units stuff from Costa Rica that requires eye and hand protection when opening the bottle (it's basically a sludge of pure capsaicin crystals in a little bit of oil).

I made a video of a buddy trying a drop of it on a toothpick, then holding his head in the sink running water over his tongue for about 15 minutes -- it's too long to put the whole thing on youtube.
