Oh, I love the Far Side comic strips, and this is one that I have always remembered. Great idea. The entire photo is a bit muddy and underexposed, lacking in contrast and punchy colors. The crop is way too tight, and the model appears to be resting against the door, and not trying to open it.

At first I thought the door was opening even though the guy is pushing. (If you can't envision that, imagine the door hinging from the right hand side, the guy would be going outside)

Underexposure a bit of a factor here too.

Nice composition, Striking catch the lines on the shirt verses the wood grain. Just try and explain to the subject what the word PULL means, it might help.

Humourous. Probably could have set it up a bit better for more effective communication of your idea (like a more straining sort of pose, pushing the door).
