Barnsby CharleneComment by Dirt_Diver: You're sky killed you here. The colors need a bit of saturation and the sky is just about plain blue. Watch that and look thru other peoples pictures. Not many winners with a plain sky. |

Back Alley Neighborsby CharleneComment by Dirt_Diver: Hey I liked this one. It's a good shot from you and I think it didn't do better was because the WOW factor but not every shot has to have that. I haven't found that touch yet but when I do I will share it with ya.

The Unexpected Newsby CharleneComment by Dirt_Diver: This is a good picture but the edges are too dark. Try easing off some but Sandy was right. This should have placed better than 182. Also maybe a dash more color too. Not a lot jsut a tiny little bit. |

Breakfast of Championsby CharleneComment by Dirt_Diver: Well I think you should have got better than a 438 but look at it like this, you could have got last. haha
Okay anyway... I think the flash might have really hurt you here. You're too close to your subject and the flash bounced off him and reflected back into the camera instead of just lighting him up. I do like the trail in the BG but I think you are in the wrong spot. You should have been more centered and let the road take the eyes around the curve along with your runner.
Also I noticed that you shot this at ISO 400 with 1/400th of a second, any reason why or was it on auto??? |

Breakfast of Championsby CharleneComment by jonfrommk: How weird that all the scores for this shot fell within a five mark radius. I kinda liked the irony of the t-shirt message and the activity and thought the blue hat and logo set it off nicely.
If you know the runner tell him he is over pronating on his right foot a bit and that he should (if he has not already) get insteps for his trainers to help provide cushioning against this (You can get them from any decent sports store) cos if he doesnt then it can cause problems
Look at that comments and medical thoughts in one post....Blimey!!!! |

El Corazon del Rioby CharleneComment by BlueZamia: I love these old theaters. Keeping the color for the whole marquee is much more interesting than picking out a specific color. |

My Lightby CharleneComment by MelonMusketeer: I like the way you used the trees to cover a lot of the bright sky, and to frame the church. Shooting at a different time of day would give a shot from this same point a completely different look and feel. The backlight works well with your title in this case.
It looks like the lights on each side of the entrance are on? In archetectual shots like this, in order to get the lights to look good at dusk or after dark, a long exposure is used, and someone flips the lights on and off for just a blink. They show up good, and don't blow out completely that way. |

Timeby CharleneComment by sherpet: A much tighter crop would have made this one pop..... Especially in a portrait format crop. Message edited by author 2007-06-24 22:39:01. |
