The Essentialsby jgal76Comment by BobsterLobster: Great concept. Shame about the distortion caused by your wide-angle lens, but as we're not allowed to apply correction in Photoshop, I'll ignore it. A bit less glare on the TV would have helped. The dirty white wall behind the telly is an effective touch. 8 |

The Essentialsby jgal76Comment by jimmythefish: Good idea! I'd perhaps have pulled the teevee over to the left to let the cord draw us over to it, and I also might have adjusted the white balance a bit (a little grey) but it's a cool idea. Wall's a little dirty for it, too, but somehow suits the low-budge nature of the shot. |

The Essentialsby jgal76Comment by Mitonski: Nice image, nice use of negative space. I think the white noise on the screen is also a nice touch, gives a bit more feel to the shot. |

The Essentialsby jgal76Comment by Pidd: This is one of the most clever shots of the challenge. Perfect use of negative space to emphasize your idea. I keep looking at that cable running across the floor and I can't decide whether I like it or if it would be better if it weren't there, but since it obviously had to be there to get the TV turned on, I reckon I like it just fine. I'm glad you left the "snow" on the screen rather than taking a picture of a football game or something. The blue screen adds the right amount of color to the otherwise dullness of the tones, again emphasizing your theme. |

The Essentialsby jgal76Comment by justesme: *laughs. Brilliant idea!
But maybe you could have eliminated the floor and that white lining thing [I have forgotten what it's called *rolls her eyes*] by raising the box and tele up with a stool or something so the background would just be the dirty wall.
However, only a suggestion. =)
PS> Instead of static, I was expecting soccer or rugby ;) |
