BTW, is the spelling a strange play on words?! |

Splashby e301Comment by BJ: This is definately one of my favorites this challenge! Great job. I think you may get comments that there is too much negative space, but I think it really works here. great focus and contrast. Good luck in the challenge:) |

You think that's air you're breathing now? by e301Comment by karmat: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Congrats!! I didn't vote on this challenge as I have never seen the movie and didn't think I could do it fairly. However, from what I understand, you have done an excellent job at meeting this challenge. I found this picture to be extremely well set up and shot. It is one of those that makes me go, "Dang, I wish I'd thought of something like that." Very creative, I think. The only minor nitpicky thing I could even imagine to say would be that I wish it was a bit wider. But upon reading your comments, both before voting and after, I think I understand why you did it that way. Even after reading about what you were calling distortion, I don't think it is noticeable at all. If it does anything, it adds to the shot by giving a feelign of some depth.
Great work. I know this probably doesn't help you "improve" the shot, but I don't know that I could help anyway.
Best to you in future challenges.

Splashby e301Comment by JPR: wow. great shot. love how the bottom splash is still and the top and side ones are still in motion. black and white looks excellent. interesting that the splash look slike a bottlecap, if you put it upside down and did some editing on the background it would make a cool absolut ad. 10 |

You think that's air you're breathing now? by e301Comment by bod: Talk about absolutely nailing the challenge!
This is the first time in over 6 months of voting I've seen a shot and known immediately that it was the winner.
I've also never seen a voting curve that looks like it doesn't tail off until about 17 either! Superb.
My toaster is now officially worried. Well done : ) |
