Comfortable?by e301Comment by pointandshoot: Another inspirational photo by you, great job. I wonder if this is the first time in DPC history where the score "Ave(Commenters)" is 10.0000. Message edited by author 2008-03-10 01:52:36. |

Comfortable?by e301Comment by Alicia: No kidding, eh? Sub-five and no comments - well, except for P's down there. Amazing.
I didn't vote on the entire FS and this escaped my voting finger. It's wildly inspired and outstandingly processed. Most compelling and fascinating. Congratulations. |

Comfortable?by e301Comment by posthumous: the reason this works can't be explained. it's not simply that it mixes a scant few highlights with overbearing dark tones and hints of a gray world. That's not enough. The beauty is in the rhythm of the mix, the ingredients and where you put them... the repeated pairings: two faces, two poles, the two facing triangles in the upper right, two bench supports in the lower right, two windows in the upper left. The picture is almost nothing. It peers through the brink of dark chaos. |

The Business Man Comethby e301Comment by brownguy: My only huge critique on this is that you can't see the man's face because it takes a second to understand that he is coming, not going. I really like the lighting though, I just wish it was at another time of day. The black and white is super effective |

The Business Man Comethby e301Comment by SaraR: Looks very like York to me, near the train station! A good tonal range, although the contrast between the dark tones of the stonework with the whited out sky is a bit much for my taste (if I am right and it is York, I reckon it was taken on the same day as mine...). The composition uses leading lines as a compositional device rather than including them without a clear purpose and thus the photo fits the challenge well; I particular like the way the businessman's shadow acts as a leading line to its owner! |
