A pleasing photo of this coot. The inclusion of the reeds give a good indication of its natural habitat. The light looks as though it was quite harsh, and the highlights on the bird's head seem blown.

14. Brant goose

I think its the same Genus, different species as the Brant (Branta bernicla). Branta leucopsis or as hahn23 called it the Barnacle Goose. The Brant has a dark head with a white ring around the neck, and is somewhat common in the states. It is pretty cool to see the birds from other spots in the world! So similar but so different.
