Whimsical. It may be that it is sand being blown around, but it does not end up being harsh. The softness in the grass, eve if it is because of the wind blowing so hard, also makes the overall effect much mellow.

Timing is everything and this is it. I have a painting on my wall that is so similar but lacks this image's iiveliness. Maybe not so Ubique but still a 6.

A subtle, delicate, howling image. As the scene recedes in overlapping planes, it's the second plane that's in focus, a fine choice that enables the windblown snow to be encompassing rather than fronting. The lovely, muted palette of green, gray and white exists in fine compositional balance. The mottled, obscuring background, which actually includes the foreground swirling snow, works as pseudo-bokeh. One of four personal favorites.
