It's interesting how the focus is on the leaves in the middle layer of the photograph. The foremost leaves are like the hand covering the face of someone shy. But we see the inner beauty, and it feels good. Beautiful tones, so many variations on yellow. It's like we're about to drape ourselves in autumn's robe.

I'm sure you are aware but will tell you anyway - in years gone by fishermen wore knitted sweaters, the patterns were so localised that when bodies were washed ashore after an accident the fishermen could be identified by their sweaters!

Terrific depth of focus, with the mushroom cap seemingly glowing from within against a beautiful green bokeh. The foreground vegetation in sharp focus provides an anchoring entrance into the image. The mushroom cap is extraordinary, with its delicately tinted scallops and ethereal glow making it a beacon for those tiny denizens, pixies and such, of field and forest. Attention is rewarded.
