This actually does remind me of Christmas, because for years a business friend of my husband's would send us a box of pears. I assume they were expensive, but they had thicker skin than the pears I usually eat and I never liked them. We kept offering them to anyone and everyone and it became a huge family joke so we'd start laughing as soon as the box showed up each year ;-)
