S o f t l yby njsabsComment by VitaminB: Such a beautiful picture. This is the kind of quality that you would see for skin care ads, like Dove soap, or Oil of Olay. Incredible softness in the skin, and the tones are perfect. My only 10 for this contest. |

Withered and Worn by njsabsComment by chromeydome: but mischievous and humorous, with sparklng shining eyes and a warmth that you captured here, using your skills to show us this about him, rather than fabricate it with with technique and lighting. Portraiture has the added obstacle that the person is a stranger: many portraits are technically perfect, but no real connection is made. This portrait reveals and presents charisma, chemistry, appeal. I want to know what he is thinking at this moment, what he would say if he could suddenly start speaking right from this image.
You already know that the technicals here are perfect, from the conversion, lighting, tones, dof--clear expertise is evident here.

S o f t l yby njsabsComment by Paul: Very similar to [thumb]768772[/thumb]; co-shot model I presume. I am surprised to see what is basically the same pose twice.
I prefer the composition of this one over 'touched' |

Withered and Worn by njsabsComment by choltmeier: Ooh... I love it! Beautiful lighting. Great character in the face. I'm hoping this is your father and we could include it in a father series (read about the idea on the image below)
I haven't figured out how we'll pull the series together on the site but I'd love to get more people to contribute. (If it isn't your father, it's still a great shot. One of my favorites in the challenge.) |
