Fake Plant Day 6by emily212Comment by cogerox: Emily, this is a great subject and good background. You might try using a different light source other than you on camera flash - they tend to leave harsh shadows. Try a table lamp off to one side, or better yet go to the hardware store and buy an inexpensive light reflector with a clamp on device (or two). Then play with your lighting arrangement until you like the results. |

Fake Plant Day 6by emily212Comment by Alicia: You have some good shapes and colors to work with here. I think it's a great start. Perhaps a crop of the stems and focus on just a few of the dried blooms. |

Horse.Day 4by emily212Comment by colorcarnival: I cannot wait to see the edit on this. I love that he is up close and not in a distance. Seems somewhat majestic - like he has a story to tell. |

Fake Plant Day 6by emily212Comment by KarenNfld: They don't look fake. It's a bit busy, maybe if you had taken one or two of them against that great background they would stand out more. |

Horse.Day 4by emily212Comment by cogerox: I think with some creative cropping this will be a very nice portrait. I'd take the sky down to just above the very tip of his ear thereby eliminating the overblown highlights. I'd also reduce the right side negavtive space to be about equal to the left. Clone out the fence wire, adjust for black and white points in levels, and, wham, beautiful shot! Yeah, too bad he didn't have a bath first, but maybe you can clean him up with the healing brush. |
