What's really very interesting about this (to me) is the half and half thing - it tells the story of how water can enrich and sustain things since the water is where the color is. Your editing realy brought this to life.

Very nice crop on this - I quite love the textures, both in the original and the edited version. The desat is well done, though I'm not sure I mightn't have preferred it completely in B&W. Very crisp, very clean - and a darn fine looking dog!

This horse looks good now, with the strong back lighting accented. The area from the brisket to the tops of the ears would make a great vertical crop with the way the light is shining thru the mane.
For advanced editing, you may want to clone out the little pile of horse biscuits. : )
My niece has a horse about this size. They are beautiful animals when they are happy.

I like the higher color levels too. This makes me want to re-edit an image that I shot in New Mexico in the Rio Grande Gorge.
The moving water looks good at the shutter speed that you used. I wonder if you shot this at several shutter speeds to see which image looked best?
