Fence of Rosesby SomeamateurComment by philup: Nice picture again. Maybe crop more off the left to get ride of the boring grass. The flowers are really nice and they lead you into the picture great. If you could have taken a step the the right (on the grass) and took the picture you could have gotten a better angle of the flowers, there for, cuting out the grass part. Nice leading lines over all. Good work |

Strike a second poseby SomeamateurComment by philup: Nice horse picture. Maybe turn to b/w and see what that does. Or up the contrast a bit. A bit more shapen couldn't hurt. Work different angles to see what looks best. Just IMO |

Mirror Image V2by SomeamateurComment by pawdrix: I like it. Have you given it a try in B&W? I'm not sure if it's possible but to try this again at a lower angle, for the whole reflection would be great. In the early morning with mist or with a more dramatic sky, you'd have a prize winner on your hands. Message edited by author 2007-03-04 19:19:19. |

New Harley Davidsonby SomeamateurComment by escapetooz: The cropping off the handlebar and yet leaving so much space at the bottom bugs me. This is really more of a snapshot to me. Trying differing perspectives would really help in a situation like this where perhaps your subject isn't in the most ideal place (ie cars in the background). Shallow DOF would have really helped you.
It's kind of interesting how the helmet is on the floor. maybe you could have played with that. Like have the helmet in the foreground with the harley in the background. |

Why do women hate when we do thisby SomeamateurComment by Rae-Ann: Greetings from the Critique Club!
My first impression of this shot is favorable over all..who doesn't like a zebra!?
As far as composition goes, for me it is so close to being an outstanding shot had you cropped it tighter. I would have gone close to the two heads and cropped into the hind end showing.
The crooked fence post throws the eye off a bit, and I think it is an unnecessary distraction.
I would have liked to see you up the contrast or saturation on this to make those stripes really pop.
Your score is more reflective of not really fitting the challenge then of the shot itself, I would imagine.
Don't feel bad this is great attempt! Keep on shooting :) |
