man .. this is excellent ... just love those expressions .. i'm on greg's laptop and its soooooo slow ... it took like half an hour for this image to open ... (slight exaggeration!!) so the excellence of this image was revealed very gradually ...
as it opened i was first drawn by the hair so highlighted by the sun .. then the forheads ... and then the glasses and the eyes .. i was starting to really really like this photograph jason .. then the piece de resistance (dont know the spelling!) was their absolutely fantastic smiles ..
this is a definite wow .. it's just wonderful .. wot i really like along with all the other positive things i've said, is that they look so totally natural .. its not as if they have their father in their face once again with his bloody camera !!!! .. its like they're sharing an excellent joke with me!!! ... a total winner and totally perfect .. the score is no gauge as to how excellent this is .. once again the voters have no idea in this case .. when they actually give us a high score, then of course they are totally right .. :)

Oh you were right Jason. This should have scored much higher! What a cute idea for this challenge. What a bunch of unappreciative voters :)

I love this tableau. A great diagonal composition highlights the dramatic victim oppressed beneath the cold gazes of his onlookers, which run from indifference to bemusement to downright condemnation. The "missing link" here is empathy. This has all the effectiveness of a scalvert set up, but much more realism, even though we know it isn't real.

Good job dealing with direct overhead light. I'd like to see more of their eyes, though. Their personalities come straight across, I like that you captured both.

The utter lack of interest in those kids almost makes this shot.
