Sunflowersby smardazComment by Alicia: Oh man - this is just brilliant. You were totally robbed. For one the concept is fun and creative. The photo is beautiful with the colors and the lighting. What a shame this didn't score higher. |

wisdom of the catby smardazComment by sfalice: es, this is one of those times when you can only gasp a bit, then shrug your shoulders and let go.
Of course you have a gorgeous portrait here and except for a 'cat bias' it could easily have been on the front page. It has technique, originality and that 'wow' factor that is much appreciated ordinarily. |

Sunflowersby smardazComment by colorcarnival: you know, I thought this was a great idea and so different from the other bokeh in the challenge. It looked like one that had some meaning behind it. The only thing I would really liked to have seen different, is that all of the sunflower be in focus. I do love the concept! |

i c uby smardazComment by DrAchoo: Technicals: Not bad. There seems to be a cast to the picture, although the warmth doesn't hurt the picture. The composition isn't bad, although I wonder what a vertical treatment would do to the shot. One possibility would have been to shoot with a longer lens so the DOF is deeper which gives the shadow more of a sharp delineation. Again, I'd have to see it though to know if it improves things.
Feel: A cute cat shot. I do get the curiosity feel.
The game: Ya, DNMC, I guess. At least it doesn't scream "celebrate life" to me... |

Sunflowersby smardazComment by disdatmac: OH I love the way all your subjects are "sun bathing!"
I really love your photo, if I was forced to say something critical, it would be that the bottom of the sunflower wasn't cropped off. |

thanks for your interest on my photo "Wanna Swim", smardaz~
some fisherman (Chinese) always sun dry the seafood,if they caught too much or the fish they caught were not valuable enough to make their living, so they will rather sun dry the seafood and keep it for themselves
in this photo the fisherman is sun drying the fishes, probably the fish will used for making porridge.. the sun drying will process about three days under the sun.. and the fishes can be kept for a long time afterwards
its a way of the fisherman living
by the way, i love your photo "wisdom of the cat" the lighting from the side is just lovely
