flight of the rebelby smardazComment by Tiny: As others have said, too cluttered and not isolated enough.
I would have thought rattling a load of shots off for a short period of time would have gotton something better but there yer go.

flight of the rebelby smardazComment by spiritualspatula: First, head isn't in a clean spot. Shifting your position slightly left and having him a bit more to the right would help showcase both him and the building. It looks like you missed focus a little bit, as well. Both the concrete stairs, as well as parts of him (especially foot) lack the clarity of the rest of the scene. This may be a situation to consider a hyperfocal setting, upping iso and stopping down another stop, or accepting the lack of clarity in the background, instead (see further down regarding that consideration). From an action sports photo perspective, you want to separate subject from background in a shot like this, but with that cool building, you're in a tricky spot wherein you need to decide what type of an audience you're after. Since this is a senior photo shoot, you're aiming to focus on your model, so I'd say a decrease in DoF would be welcomed. For a photo on here, a deeper DoF will probably work better as it adds the interest of the building (generally, I've not seen true sport specific shots place well outside of sport specific challenges). |
