Highland Lighthouse (APAW-3)by PGerstComment by Neil: I think you did a pretty good job removing the fence. A little work on the main building wall would help, but I didn't notice it at first. Great colors and shot! |

No kidding -- excellent job! I also prefer the color version, but that might depend on the viewing context -- the B&W is also a fine image, and there are many times when that would be the more appropriate version.
I think I've actually seen this lighthouse, though it would have been almost 30 years ago. |

Sunset Fishing Boat (APAW-2bw)by PGerstComment by GeneralE: Nice luminous quality to the water. I think I like the color version better, but I might feel differently on a different day ...
I think it's fine to have the horizon near the middle if you have important detail both above and below, as here. |

Highland Lighthouse (APAW-3)by PGerstComment by cgino: The B&W version is very cool, but I like the bright cheery colors of this one better. Aren't you a brave sole to clone out that fence, I know how much work it is to do that and it is so much nicer without it! One problem I've run into when using the photoshop clone tool (which I assume you used?) is that you can easily get repeated bits very easily if you don't change your sample constantly; also you can end up with some blurring. What I've found works better in many cases is to use the patch tool :-) |
