Kissy Kissy 2by MelonMusketeerComment by SaraR: 'because I was not thinking much about iso at the time' - I can't think why not.... A really cool, and very intimate, shot. Probably just as well you had the ISO high, as it allowed for a super fast shutter speed - I can imagine that there might have been evidence of camera shake at a more usual speed! The composition works well, and the detail is pretty good, all things considering. Have you thought about burning (or is it dodging? I can never remember) the eye a little? It might help give it the appearance of a little more clarity. A real find, and an excellent addition to the side challenge portfolio. |

Wish We Were All Hereby MelonMusketeerComment by JerseyGenie: I agree with jomari it does look very inviting but for an opposite reason than she had ... we are about 20 degrees here with a fresh fall of snow followed by sleet followed by rain and increasing temps.
BEEEEEAutiful coloring here to show off a very inviting scene. Glad you too are hitting the archives, Waddy. |

Tropical Checkered Skipperby MelonMusketeerComment by MaryO: I like his markings; nice soft greys that would blend in with a lot of things. (Side note: he's grey!! Maybe too much white for the challenge, though.)
One of those confusing Skippers who actually holds his wings like a real butterfly. It's a wonder anyone ever gets some of these things identified! |

Snappy .jpgby MelonMusketeerComment by roz: wot a cutey waddy ..
i'd love to have one of these birds .. greg got me a budgie as a christmas present but these bigger birds are much more intelligent .. i think you can even toilet train them .. amazing .. i dont think ppl realise just how bright these birds are .. i bet you have a blast with this bird .. he'd be able to stand up to someone like katee too .. i'm worried that if i let charlie, our new budgie out've the cage alone with katee that she will try and eat him .. i'm hoping katee gets a lot more trustworthy .. i let charlie out when katee's in the room and she's very obedient and sits and just looks .. but i dont like the look in her eye .. lol .. :) |
