WindowCat copy.jpgby J-MeComment by digifotojo: This is a really cool shot, I like the eye peeking out between the curtains. Kind of says "I'm keeping an eye on you." |

Hiding Under The Table.jpgby J-MeComment by Adamsw216: I do love the perspective here. The angle definitely helps this image and I feel that without the angle, it would have an entirely different feel. The isolation of the foreground is well executed and works with the composition nicely. I like the colors, and the post-processing works for the most part (though, it could be toned down just a tad...) |

Your Coat Has A Face.jpgby J-MeComment by J-Me: Originally posted by colorcarnival: Did you take this from the car? Looks like you topazed it too as it has the signature color pop. Too bad that person walking didn't have on a fur coat - that would have been a great feeding frenzy to capture! |
LOL...yeah, I took it from the car window while briefly stopped in traffic. And, NO ONE wore a fur in front of that gang! As I inched forward in traffic, I heard them get rather raucus. Unfortunately, all that I had with me that day was my P&S camera. My DSLR would have taken a much better shot. Drats! Even then, I had to fumble to get my P&S and get the window down, angle the camera so as not to get the frame of the car as the better part of the picture. It was quite a struggle. On the way back, I leaped out of the car to catch another shot of them, slipped on a pile of snow and ice and went right UNDER the car. I didn't get that shot! LOL |

Hiding Under The Table.jpgby J-MeComment by J-Me: Originally posted by digifotojo: I'm laughing just imagining you crawling around on your hands and knees under the kitchen table trying to capture this. It's excellent. I particularly like the tilt which gives it a feeling of looking through a child's eyes. Unless that was just your one-hand-held camera tilt.. happens to me all the time, lol. I also love your PP, the detail is amazing, especially the teddy bear! Was that your new software? It's really fantastic. The muted colors are perfect for this. I can't find anything wrong with it. Very very well done, Jamie!!! |
LOL...I was crawling under the table and it hurt! I'm getting too old to be on my hands and knees or laying, sprawled on the floor!
I did use a tabletop tripod and I tilted it and kept it straight. For some reason, the angled shots had the most appeal to me as it felt as though it was from the viewpoint of a child rather than a square-on shot. |

Tilted Point Of Viewby J-MeComment by colorcarnival: I wrote a comment and it never posted - how annoying! I have to say that I did not get a sense of tilt from the book. Maybe because the area before the book is so dark? For me, there is no reference horizon that would give me a clue about the position of the book. I can see where the glasses are at a slight angle but it just makes me think of one of those books that are hard to keep closed. I like the yellowish sepia-tone color - makes me think of one who is trying to read in the dark using only candlelight. |
