A wonderful idea, the star of the apple for the challenge. But the colors really threw me at first, changing the color of the seeds and the edges was a bit disconcernting at first but the more I look at it, the more I like it at the same time! The bluish/green in the upper corners is a bit distracting, maybe a slightly tighter crop? Also the yellow across the bottom left corner. I'm starting this one at a 7, I'll be back to study it more later.

In my opinion, the color shifting in this image isn't really adding much to the impact of the photo. It creates something 'different' but I am having trouble understanding or finding the purpose in it. Maybe shifting to a darker color that created more contrast would be interesting.
