Anything Bleakby dsidwellComment by insteps: Beautiful composition. An isolated telephone pole leaning towards life on the horizon. Could find many deep meaning in this shot. |

Anything Bleakby dsidwellComment by viajero: I really like this. Everything about it says "bleak" - the color, the subject, the dried mud in the foreground. Is that a dust storm on the horizon, or is it clouds or fog? |

Anything Bleakby dsidwellComment by charliebaker: I love the simplicity of this photo, as well as the colors. Great choice and texturing in the editing stages. That glimmer on the horizon is tantalizing enough to give this photo that added allure. Cool shot. |

Railroad Rememberedby dsidwellComment by pncowley: Very nicely captured, David! In spite of my interest in trains (and particularly Utah's place in the completion of the transcontinental railroad) this is one location I have yet to visit. My wife's great-uncle worked in the quarry where the SP obtained the rock for the causeway that put the trestle out to pasture. I was aware of Trestlewood's efforts to salvage the old timber from the cutoff, but had assumed their work was completed and the trestle was no longer there. Looks like I've got a road trip to take! |
