 The Great Salt Lake. This post is an old telephone pole that ran parallel to the old Lucin Cutoff railroad trellis. After seven years of drought, one has to go quite a distance across the salt /mud flats to actually see the lake. This is near the northeast edge of the lake, east of the geographical Promontory Point. That is a natural rain storm in the distance.

Not much post processing here, just some contrast and color adjustments, each done separately for sky and earth.

Beautiful composition. An isolated telephone pole leaning towards life on the horizon. Could find many deep meaning in this shot.

I really like this. Everything about it says "bleak" - the color, the subject, the dried mud in the foreground. Is that a dust storm on the horizon, or is it clouds or fog?

I love the simplicity of this photo, as well as the colors. Great choice and texturing in the editing stages. That glimmer on the horizon is tantalizing enough to give this photo that added allure. Cool shot.
