Peeping Overby JedusiComment by Wildcard: Oh this is lovely such a brave little flower with it's petals starting to brown but still standing confident of it's beauty. The play of colours and the texture in the rock with against the creamy bokeh with the starkness of the flower works well IMO.

Heading Homeby JedusiComment by Blackbox: Never thought a cow could look so good in a photo. The trees and lighting aren't too shabby either. Great work! |

Showerby JedusiComment by boysetsfire: this is a fantastic image, the rain, the dog with 2 legs and no head, the contrast of the rain drops on the black tree, the bent tree which is supporting your son keeping him vertical, the centred composition, pretty much everything besides it may look better presented with a border top and bottom.
very nice and interesting capture, it has a great feel to it

Showerby JedusiComment by Jedusi: Thanks for the various comments folks, always appreciated.
agenkin I don't do a lot of letterbox crops, but in this case there was quite a lot of bright sky higher in the picture through the branches, and the brightness drew the eye away from where I wanted the viewer to look, so I chose to crop it down to keep it focussed.
Bear_Music A crop fromthe right might well be interesting as a different picture but I really like the shape and flow of these lower branches and a continuity that they give to the picture, so again i kept it full width.
However I did choose to crop the dog as I liked the dynamic effect it had on the picture, and the tension generated by the different reactions to the rain - one staying one going. this didn't come over as strongly when Archie was fully visible.
Anyway thanks again for the comments, glad others find it pleasing. |

Showerby JedusiComment by Greetmir: Other than the fact that I agree with Bear_Music re: the ROT cropping making it a nicer image, I agree with Posthumous about most of the rest ... cool OOB image. |

Showerby JedusiComment by Melethia: WAY cool. That's my first reaction. I'll disagree with Mr Bear (who's comment I read after my first reaction) and say that I really do like the tree and the young man centered. Can't say why, but it pleases me visually. And the picture makes me want to be out there in the rain with them. |

Love Lostby JedusiComment by Melethia: Poignant and transitory, both good descriptions of love and life in general. The flowing water, though, seems to indicate that everything gets washed clean at some point; refreshed. |
