On the Prowlby JedusiComment by SandyP: Ohmygoodness, Steve! This is freaking AWESOME!!! The high key. The black and white. The blur. Everything works together so amazingly to create a haunting, eerie and powerful image! Way to GO!!!!!

On the Prowlby JedusiComment by krnodil: Scary fanged beast emerges from the blinding light - gives me shivers. :) Very effective - nice expression of a leopard, rather than just a straight representation. |

On the Prowlby JedusiComment by UrfaK: Inspite of the high contrast this picture shows more about the animal's nature then any detailed potrait could.. |

On the Prowlby JedusiComment by LevT: the technique reminds me oriental ink paintings a little. it's impressionistic and graphical at the same time. Interesting that usually hi-key is associated with softness and tenderness, but this guy is anything but tender, and high key somehow works here to emphasizes the predatory feel. good job! |

And what would you say if you were being less poetic ?
Are you saying this is heavenly or you feel you've been savagely attacked by a vampire ?

The 'Yawney' Owlby JedusiComment by Jedusi: Originally posted by LevT: fantastic shot! I am not sure it's a yawn - it looks to me like he (or she?) is shouting at you |
Ok - it's a fair cop . . it's artistic license . .
It was actually a hand reared owl that was sitting demanding attention . . it was really quite funny. It would sit fluffed up and peering out through almost shut eyes until it judged there was enough people about, then shout out a couple of times to get peoples attention before sitting back smugly :- )
That explanation makes a lousy title though :- )

On the Prowlby JedusiComment by Bruce_the_Robert: The dark eyes, the sharp teeth, that's all that's really here, and just that, and it fits; just the spirit of the beast. The rest of it as it is often perceived, if perception is the right word, the fur, the tale, even the body, are whisps here, insubstantial and unsubstantiated, merely memories of our limited vision. |
