I like this. I don't think you needed the top of the fence though. The part of sky and tree peeking through draws the eye up and away from the subject. The subject is wonderful and the background works well.

Very interesting shot. I get the feeling this one looked much better in person, but it is still pretty good. The dark looks a little grainy and the right side looks over saturated.

Hi Tara. At first I thought this was a picture of a butterfly in the background behind your son until I had a closer look. Then I noticed it was suspended with a string as you described. However, I thought the shadow of the string on his nose was part of the shadow of the butterfly's wing.

This was a clever and original idea, and the colors you have depicted contrast nicely with each other. You can never go wrong using yellow against blue. The composition is good, except as you say a little too tightly cropped at the top. But I guess you had to do this to hide the string right?

The whole image has a soft feeling to it. The outlines of your son's face and the butterfly have a kind of smudged effect to them, which is a little disturbing to the eye. But other than that a good pic Tara!

I like the photo ,now here comes the but.. Love to see that red shirt and lolly pop jump out at me little more color saturataion and crop off the top about a fifth or quarter way down just below the top rail. Like how the swing is tilted with his/her weight . It tells a story.
