Ah, thank you pixelpig: "street photography" makes it all work. The power of words. And robinssong, yes, that was the case - people park their dogs there all the time, and this one was a real sweetie, no issues at all.

This one is cool. So many things to look at. Makes you wonder what is going on outside the car. Of course on the flip side, I'm really hoping that it was not a hot day because the window is up! Bad for doggies :(

I love dog photos and this one is wonderful! The dog looks relaxed and slightly curious. Like someone was walking him and went into the store for a moment. Great B&w processing and tones.

It's not all that often I see street photography w/a dog as the subject. I like this as is, including the perspective of the bldg & even the leash/pole. What keeps my attention is the expressive face of that "small eyed collie cross." "D

Thank you for your thoughtful comments. The leash and pole are things I worried about, but not the sign, so I have something to think about. First concern was to get the pole and the end of the building (shot at the wide end) appearing vertical, but I thought the sign contributed to the into the distance aspect. Second concern to lighten the head which was in shadow without blowing out the rest of the photo. (No closer head shots - not my dog, but I still want to get his/her eyes).

The details in the fur are well done
I don't have a problem with the shadows at all - i think the high contrast works well in teh shot

Nice shot. Nice b&w conversion. Nice detail and texture in the dog's coat. If it were my shot, I'd remove the leash and crop a bit off the left side.

I like the expression on its face! There's a lot going on in this shot. I agree with tpbremer, maybe crop out some of the background. The line from the building kind of leads the eye right to the sign, which takes away from the dog.

I would have maybe cropped the yield sign off the left side. Otherwise processing looks good.
