alpoby tnunComment by Melethia: I like the use of the high ISO here - adds a nice amount of grain/noise. Gives this an almost neglected feeling - this poor corner where stuff waits to be noticed. |

Downtown.jpgby tnunComment by MelonMusketeer: That's a long harbor. The reflection in the water in the foreground also ties the foreground into the top of the shot. You could do a lot for this shot with basic editing tools. Bring up shadows, and tweak levels and contrast would bring out the reflections in the foreground and more detail in the docks and boats.
You got the exposure value "EV" just right to keep the detail in the brighter clouds. Composition in this is interesting the way the curve in the clouds follows the curve in the harbor. |

twoby tnunComment by Melethia: The tilt of the hats - they're both watching the same thing, but he with either binoculars or a camera (I first though binoculars, but then realized, duh - it could be a camera). His body language says he finds it more interesting than she does; she's with him because she's always with him and wouldn't have it any other way.
As for the toning, it has the warm yellow/gold of evening in summer. There's a section on the back of his shirt where it seems non-contiguous as far as the toning part - not sure why that is - and the tone doesn't appear to continue into the sky. These "technicals" may be unsettling to voters. On my "sometimes too light" monitor, the back of her shirt is noisy. Looks fine on my "sometimes too dark" monitor. |

heron dreamingby tnunComment by colorcarnival: Posthumous ribbon hog.... hehehe :D How many do you have now? I typically prefer more light on bird shots but your title leads me in a different direction - and I think the processing is perfect for it. |
