Needs to have a smattering of artistry, something more than a plain old board in bad lighting. Colours, a little smoke, side lighting, there are thousands of ways of livening something up.

I would guess that most voters have gone sailing straight over this one and thought - oh yeah a board - 4, and to be truthful, thats what it deserves.

I know this is a brutal slating of your submission, but at least I stopped to say why I gave it a 4, and maybe you might put a little 'zing' into your next submission.

Not exactly sure what it is - but it certainly shouts "TEXTURE" big time. Nice printing with strong blacks and white along with good tonal range.
