Unsureby lunachickenComment by hahn23: Could be a Ferruginous. Did you see the bird from the front? Could be a rough-legged hawk, but I think those have mostly left on migration North. |

This one was really big though, too big for a Swainson I think (and early). I struggle with Hawk's though. If not an Osprey for the size, a Ferruginous? This was at Walden Ponds in Boulder. |

Ring Necked Duckby lunachickenComment by hahn23: Your ID is exactly correct. I've always felt this species should be named ring billed duck, because that is easily seen and the ring on the neck is subtle. |
