Day 6 - A New Arrival

Comment by Charlene:
When I first saw this image, I thought there was an ice storm and a tree had split down the middle and landed like that. Then I remembered your Where's Wally challenge photo and am wondering if this is some of your garden.

I love the ominous nature of the fog and frost. Definitely makes me want to stay inside where it is hopefully warmer. Maybe for a sour, I wonder how it would look with a bit more contrast.

Jon, although I know that its the photographer and not the equipment that makes a great photo, having a good camera will still make a huge difference in the way you see things. I can not really explain why that is, but its true.

I am happy for you! I expect great things from you. Be sure to read and re-read the manual!

Congrats on the arrival of your new baby! Hopefully you treat it nicer than you do your own head (Ice thumping from earlier this side challenge).

I just love how frost can make a normal scene appear magical, with glistening lights. And this was just in time for Christmas.

Good stuff. When you decide you want to get serious, you can trade that silly Canon in for a real camera...

On the photo itself...
I like the placement of the tree so that it is framed between the two houses. I think the focus could be improved by focusing on the tree instead of the bushes/ underbrush in the foreground. (Doesn't that thing have so many more buttons and setting than your ol' camera?)

This is the only photo that I saw that captured the theme. good job and great imagination. Photo wise... I'm just an ameture but the glare of the dress is dristracting as is the striped object behind your left shoulder. But I like the content!

Oh, Jon! This IS Hell for me. . . I don't have exactly the same "rush hour" experience I don't guess as you. . .but trust me. . I swear I am in Hell on my way home most days! And there have been days, I would have sold my SOUL to escape. . .juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding. I wouldn't sell my soul for anything. . . .but. . . .you know what I mean. This is a great Hell concept! I wish it got rated higher!

Fabuous idea :-) A little too much light on the dress, but a perfect take on the challenge.
