First Day Of Schoolby jonfrommkComment by sfalice: Oh, yes. You better look tough on the first day of school.
Morris Minors of that vintage? Hmmm, in the states, we used to call a Morris Minor a Mighty Mo.
Don't know why, but yep, I was there, driving an MG TD. |

The Rare Beauty of a Black Swanby jonfrommkComment by Melethia: Composition works just fine for me and these are indeed lovely creatures. We had a few at the zoo in San Antonio and they're hard to shoot well - you did a very nice job getting detail and delineation in the feathers here. |

Beaconby jonfrommkComment by colorcarnival: I wonder why this is a sub-5 shot? It's clear, the subject is in focus, the blue colortone is gorgeous, the angle adds interest. I didn't get to it during voting so i'm not sure what I would have given it - at least a 6 for sure. I don't really get moved by architecture shots, but I'd say that you have a very good one here. Shame it was not appreciated more. |

Beaconby jonfrommkComment by Charlene: Absolutely love the duotone you chose here. (It is a duotone, right?) Great composition and angle. A very nice sharp night image without noise. Nicely done. |

Beaconby jonfrommkComment by Alicia: Jon - I love the contrast between the lighted parts of the dome and the dark tree. The tones are really excellent. Is that Satin Steel? Clearly unappreciated and underrated - this is SO not a 4.9. |

And You Will Be Known By The Temples That You Buildby jonfrommkComment by colorcarnival: Whenever I see a picture of a temple, I always think of Japan. And the first thing that struck me is that your clouds in the background look like snow covered mountains! I thought that was pretty cool. Playing with saturation is a tricky thing, and I think this is what created the obvious appearance of noise that everyone is talking about. You need to get that noise ninja stuff, you'd be surprised what that can do for a photo. |
