Dew Drops on Tulipby jonfrommkComment by bassbone: Jon
Excellent use of bright colors, interesting shapes and use of control of focus. I actually think it is a very good quality image and would have given it a 7 during voting had I had time to vote.
I wonder if a slightly different crop/ rotation so that flower center is oriented and centered a bit more geometrically would have raised the score. With the fact that the red 'border' not being even and also not offset siginficantly, the photo appears a bit unbalanced. Taking care to provide the same space around the image throughout would have given it a more polished look. That's my impression anyway - but like I said above - I like the image and I think it works pretty darn well! |

Dew Drops on Tulipby jonfrommkComment by colorcarnival: Hi Jon. I gave this a 6. I liked the macro but I felt the red overwhelmed the picture. I've been trying to take tulip pics lately and have found it's a PITA to do. So I cannot suggest any ways to do this differently lol. |

Beautiful and Calorie Freeby jonfrommkComment by quiche: I'm stunned that so many commenters couldn't tell what this was. Do these people not pay attention to the food they eat? And I think you deserved a MUCH higher score. This is a wonderfully creative take on the challenge theme. I scored this one tied with the photo that took second place. |

Beautiful and Calorie Freeby jonfrommkComment by WalesP: You sure got folks commenting on this one Jon. I think it looks like an ovum with spermatozoa trying to get inside, but then that would take a really big macro lens. |
