Day 11 - the best photographer in my householdby jonfrommkComment by SandyP: Oh she IS beautiful! This is such a great portrait of her looking so natural in her element. And it sounds cliche, but I really mean it. The tones of blacks in the foreground and the grays in the background make this really pop.
Is Daisy a member of DPChallenge? I love it when kids jump in. So many times they amaze us and do really well. I'd love to see some of her work too.

Day 11 - the best photographer in my householdby jonfrommkComment by Brad: Hi Jon,
Have a PS tip for you on how to remove the halo around her sleeves and such (if it's of interest).
Use the clone tool, set to darker mode, small, soft-edged brush, and sample just to the outside of the area that is light, and then clone away over the halo part. In darker mode, it will only replace the pixels that are lighter than the sampled section, so worrying about going outside the lines like on the jacket/sweater won't change. Vary the strength of the tool, sometimes 50% works, sometimes you can go to 100%.
It's a real quick method and precision isn't needed. In the area around the pull loop for the zipper, you can sample way over to the left, in an area of about the same density/tones, and clone darker over the whole thing, as it will only darken the lighten pixels. It's almost as easy as sampling way over to the left, on an even horizontal line from the corner of the lens, and go over to the lens and clone all the way down to her pants in one step. |

Day 8 - Defending a Cornerby jonfrommkComment by SandyP: Yes! You really captured a moment here! You must have an excellent zoom (sniffle sniffle -- I'm still grieving the loss of mine), because it looks like you are on the field in their face. A most perfect sports capture :)
