Seemingly simple. Aside from the hawk gracefully lifting up, it's neat how the rest of the contrast is among rather soft tones. The background is of gentle wheat, blue and an arc of white clouds. The main contrast lives in the fence, the whites and shadows. Whereas most images aiming for contrast can be heard through a bullhorn of stark juxtaposition, this is serene and therefore surprisingly effective.
