Tulip Under Vaseby colorcarnivalComment by jonfrommk: Gorgeous reds on the flower heads and I love the muted reflection in the 'spilt' water
Very nice composition and application of the rule of thirds although I would have liked to see the top of the tulip on the right
I love the capture of the petal edge |

Spring Glowby colorcarnivalComment by jonfrommk: great shot for the challenge, its wonderfully dreamlike and the gentle whites and greens compliment each other perfectly.
The bokeh means that although the flower is soft it still packs plenty of punch
Very cool |

Light of Darknessby colorcarnivalComment by jonfrommk: Definitely one of those shots where you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve but for whatever reason others dont see the same thing that you have.
Clever shot with the flash firing and I really like the hard tones of the B&W conversion |

Light of Darknessby colorcarnivalComment by JuliBoc: This score must have hurt. The shot deserved much better. It was original, and well composed. I'm quite impressed with your ability to get such clear detail on the camera with the flash going off right into your lens. And it's very portrait-like.
BTW - I was going to suggest that you clean up some of the spots in the image. Then I discovered most of the spots were on my screen. :\ |

Light of Darknessby colorcarnivalComment by WalesP: From your description it sounds like you nailed the photo you were going for. Too bad others did not see it. I like the vintage look. Maybe it would have worked better with an ancient Yashica instead or an earlier version of a DSLR. Who knows.
BTW: it's an excellent concept and photo. |
