IMG_5511.jpgby PhotoDaveComment by dtremain: Not sure I've seen this one at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg parade - it is very nice. Is it a replicar (the wire wheels look more modern)? And what is the car beside it? I don't recognize it.
If you're a fan of old cars, and can make it (I know Indiana is a fair distance), I'd highly recommend the Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg Festival on Labor Day Weekend in Auburn, Indiana. The "Parade of Classics" is Saturday at 1:00 PM. Friday night is the cruise-in around the courthouse square. And that's not to mention the WWII, NATMUS, and Auburn Cord Duesenburg museums, and the Kruse Auto Auction. I got to Auburn this year Saturday morning at about 11:30 AM, and left about 4 PM - and took 693 pictures - one of which was my entry for the motivation poster (Excellence).
I like your photo - this is a gorgeous car, and having it in a modern setting (shopping mall, office tower, concrete-divided road, modern parking lot) just emphasizes its classic lines and beauty. |

natural light outtake_IMG_2925.jpgby PhotoDaveComment by DrAchoo: Whew, last one. Hey, this wasn't even in a challenge... ;)
Tehcnicals: Either the DOF or focus is just slightly soft. I know the 17-40 is a sharp lens, but I seem to sense softness around the eyes. Your DOF may have been sharpest at the tip of the nose where the AF likes to go. Lighting is good. I'm not bothered by the bright right shoulder. I am more bothered by the sharp shadow from the hands. The juxtaposition of the shadow and the bright upper arm is the highest area of contrast and our eyes are drawn there immediately.
The feel: Contemplative. I like that. IF this wasn't a candid and you could have set up the background, I would have searched for somewhere without a car and house growing out of your subject.
The game: Well, you weren't playing the game, so I won't say anything. ;) |

Classic Camaro Powerby PhotoDaveComment by CVette: Nice capture. I bet a selective desat (keep the reds) would look pretty cool and help guide the eye away from the background. |
