spooky shot - the razor wire is probably the ugliest off all that type of stuff - very graphic and violent - placement of the moon and 'freedom' beyond allows the image to tell us a story

Lots of things. Love the noisy sky: the gradation from dark to light is a harmonious counterpoint to the alternately light and dark rendering of the razor wire. And then there is the assonance between the cold cruel defense/offense of the wire and its sweet gentle human curves. The moon just sort of there, the diagonal framing, the pebbly texture of the top of the wall - I think some part of you knew very well what you were doing.

I like the light and dark of the twisted razor wire. I'm still on the fence about the noisy sky. Maybe if the wall was cropped out, the texture from it wouldn't compete with the sky.

I like the composition and the various implications of the image. I think of being in prison and only getting a peep at the sky. The noise is definitely the first thing I saw when it opened. If harsh is what you are going for, then I think the noise is fine. If you consider it a distraction, there are several ways to get rid of it. Any of the noise reduction add-ons would do. But I suspect it came from the b&w conversion. An interesting experiment would be to put a hue/sat layer below the b&w conversion layer and play with the hue sliders for blue and cyan (assuming the sky was blue).

I think because the sky is so noisy, I would maybe try to sharpen a couple of times using USM and then redo levels and curves to pump up the graininess. With something like this, why fight the grain? Embrace it!

It does make a face, which is fun (but it's razor wire. For me, the noise turns the sky into a wall, very close behind the wire. And the moon becomes an eye. Are we inside or outsize--that's the question a wall inspires. Inside or outside of what--that's the question the wire inspires. Interesting, thought-provoking shot.
