12-jan 2011 each to his own. give them an inchby rozComment by dahlin: I like both of these shots equally well, for different reasons. The color shot has such a fun contrast of colors, almost Cuban house colors, that create a painting type feel, while the desat version is spooky, eerie, and ghostly. |

dazy 25. feb 08 overlays. me by rozComment by smardaz: Well dang Roz old buddy, this just didn't work out how I wanted. I was approaching my 5000th comment and wanted to give it to someone I was fond of. Well I was commenting on the work challenge and wasn't paying attention to my count so now you're getting my 5002nd....Shoot, just seems so anti-climactic now!
Well anyway, why did I choose this shot? Well I have always loved this one, you just look so beautiful and full of youthful enthusiasm. You may tell me that your youth was not what you would have wanted it to be, but that is how I choose to see this. I was quite a delinquent in my youth, but looking back on it, the real me, the one I feel I am now, was there. Buried deep down inside the person I thought I wanted to be at the time. What I see in this shot is the person you are now, the person you would become. A beautiful, caring, accomplished woman. You have raised children and now been able to pursue your artform to the height of being published, and that is no small feat.
You have been a good friend and critic to me for 4 (Four!?) years now. I reckon we will always be relegated to just email and comments in our portfolios, but if for some odd reason we ever got to meet I would give you a big hug and maybe even get a little teary eyed, being the big over-sensitive ogre that I am.
Keep pursuing your passion and keep being the kind, open hearted person you are now. |

12-jan 2011 each to his own. give them an inchby rozComment by Alicia: This is beyond brilliant, Roz - I don't know what you did, but man, it's awesome.
When I saw it, it reminded me immediately of this Vincent van Gogh painting:
 - different and yet similar.
My mind is so happily boggled by this image that I haven't even looked at the BW version yet. I'm afraid of what will happen. OX |
