thanks Gaby .. and yes it can be disheartening to enter challenges and they bomb out .. you most definitely didnt this day .. !! .. your Bee Eater is stunning and such beautiful colours ..
not out of the camera .. !! .. but that is quite a compliment .. as these days i like to create something that is different from the reality but maintains a real feel .. if you get the idea ..
but i've just uploaded the seven photos i used in this image plus my editing steps to the sc .. the grasshopper focus stacked to get all of him in focus .. uncropped .. then added several photos that i'd taken of bokeh .. and then the spider's web .. :) |

stepping lightlyby rozComment by willem: Very nice but in my view more like film-noir than chiaroscuro (although there is a connection between the two). Here the strong contrast is used the make the spider jump out from the background and to show its outline, which works well, but chiaroscuro is more about using the light to emphasise the shape of the object itself, for example roundness. (Impossible in macro) |
